Madi’s Heart

I want to give you a little update on Madi and ask for your help on a special Valentines project. Madi is at a residential program in Utah. In addition to doing school work, she participates in therapy, horse therapy and other activities. When she arrived, she was assigned a 2 day old baby calf that she will care for daily for 4 months. Below are pictures of Madi and Beau (her calf) taken when they first met. She is doing well overall- learning more about herself, better ways to express her needs and developing coping skills. She has been feeling lonely and more anxious since Christmas. We get to talk with her once a week by phone and once a week in a virtual family session.

I am gathering notes from people who are special to Madi and help her feel loved and remembered on Valentine’s Day. I know she would love to hear from you! Please print the attached heart image on a standard 8 1/2 x 11″ piece of white paper. Then hand write her a sweet note – qualities you appreciate about her, fun memories and/or words of encouragement. Please use a black pen that will show up well and stay within the lines of the heart. Once it is done, you can scan/email a very clear image to me at OR mail/drop off to 5068 Faber Way San Diego, CA 92115. I need to receive your note by January 28 in order for her to receive it by Valentine’s Day.
